Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó accuses Poland of hypocrisy for criticizing Hungary's cooperation with Russia while secretly maintaining significant trade relations with Moscow

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó recently called out Poland for what he described as hypocritical behavior. According to Szijjártó, while Warsaw publicly condemns Hungary’s cooperation with Russia, it secretly continues to engage in substantial trade with Moscow.

He pointed out that in 2023, Poland's trade with Russia reached approximately €6 billion, including significant purchases of Russian fertilizers.

This statement has heightened tensions between the two nations, reflecting broader divisions within the European Union regarding relations with Russia.

The remarks were made during the Tranzit Festival, where Szijjártó accused Poland of criticizing Hungary while quietly conducting similar activities.
