Amid economic hardships, VP Kashim Shettima condemns #EndBadGovernance protest organizers, calling them "idiots" and warning of potential unrest similar to Syria and Libya.

Vice President Kashim Shettima has accused Nigerians in the diaspora of orchestrating the planned #EndBadGovernance protests against President Bola Tinubu's government.

Speaking at a wedding ceremony in Maiduguri, Borno State, Shettima referred to the protest organizers as "idiots" and "bandits" plotting to incite trouble from abroad.

Shettima warned against following the organizers, comparing the potential unrest to the crises in Syria and Libya.

Despite Shettima's accusations, the planned protests stem from widespread economic hardships and a high cost of living under Tinubu's administration.

While the International Monetary Fund has praised Tinubu's economic policies, public discontent continues to rise.

As Nigerians prepare for nationwide protests from August 1-10, Tinubu has sought to rally religious leaders and traditional rulers to discourage participation.
